Broadway!!

Yesterday, I went to NYC with my friend Monalisa (yes that is her real name). She had won two tickets to see The Lion King on Broadway, and invited me to go with her. I (obviously) said yes. How could I pass up a free Broadway show?!

Anyway, we decided to take the train, because who wants to drive in to NYC? That drive is super brutal. So, we met at the train station at 9:15 and caught the 9:45 to Penn Station. Monalisa is a mother of two, so of course she was loaded down with snacks. However, the mom wonder was wearing high-heeled boots and hadn't brought a jacket. We arrieved at Penn Station and proceeded to walk towards Broadway. On the way, Monalisa's feet and legs really started to bother her because of the stupid boots. So, I thought that maybe we could walk to a shoe store and find her something. But, before we made it, she started to walk like someone's grandma. I knew she was in pain, and we have the same shoe size, so I told her to trade shoes with me. So, there in the middle of the sidewalk, I gave her my super cute comfy Sketchers and put on her horrible boots. We made it to Times square and decided to grab some lunch. Afterwards, we were on the hunt for shoes. We found a Sketcher's store and found her a pair of cute shoes on clearance and I bought a hoodie.

With comfy shoes strapped to Monalisa's feet, we were ready to continue on our journey. We had coupon's for Madame Tussaud's wax museaum, so we went. Nothing beats creepy-ass wax figures of prominent celebrities. We have pics of each other with the Jonas Brothers, Johnny Cash, Hannah Montana and N*Sync. And a bunch of others. Afterwards, we did some shopping. We went to the Virgin Megastore...which is closing in a few days :( And, we also stopped at Midtown Comics. If you are any type of comic book nerd (Manga too) you totally need to stop at Midtown Comics the next time you're in the city. I didn't buy anything there, but I love just going in. If I had had a hundred bucks or so to blow in there...well, make it 1000, cuz I could buy sooo much.

At that point, we were ready to head over to the theater. When we got there, we felt the excitement start to build. When we were shown to our seats, we could not believe it. FRONT ROW! We were practically on stage we were so close! Then the play started and I just about lost my goddamn mind. It was insane! It was such a good play I can barely describe how good it was, how great it was! Well, it didn't last nearly long enough. And then, it was time to go home...to leave to city behind.

I love New York City. I wish we could have stayed longer, but all good things must come to an end. So, we hopped on the train and headed home. All I could think on the way home was, "I can't wait to go back."
